I have lived and worked in both the small business and nonprofit worlds. My career has spanned broadcasting, newspaper editing, teaching college history in a prison, rural health care advocacy in Atlanta and Washington, DC, revitalizing an arboretum and historic mansion, to serving as the founding president of a grassroots organization with a leadership role in the cancellation of the last proposed coal-fired power plant in the United States. Most recently I worked in Atlanta for a 34 year old nonprofit supporting low income pet owners meeting the challenges of age, disability, or chronic illness.
I care deeply about social and environment justice and strong communities. My approach to work is principled, innovative, inclusive, and results driven. Most recently I have served as the Executive Director of Thanks Mom & Dad Fund®, and Pets Are Loving Support (PALS), both located in Atlanta.
My life now straddles Atlanta and rural Middle Georgia. My strengths include policy and programming. organizational strategy and assessment, project management, communication, and interim leadership. Ask me how I can make your organization or small company stronger.
Katherine, I’d really like to share my letter with you regarding Mack Jackson. He was one of only 2 Democrat reps that voted for the incredibly bad union-busting bill yesterday.
